Mattie May Morrison was born May 15, 1930 in Pavo, GA , to the late Rosa Tisby and the late Albert Humphrey. She was one of 10 children: Maggie, Charlie, Jessie, Howard, Liza, Daisy, Inez, Leon and Lester. All preceded her in death except her sister Inez Blount.

She met and married the late James Morris Boykin, Sr.; they were married 17 years. During that 17 years they had 3 children: Teresa (Ulyssess Matthews) (Delray Beach, FL), the late James M. Jr. (Helen), and Gwendolyn Boykin, both of Cleveland, OH. She was a member of 1st Corinthian Baptist Church (Jacksonville, FL) and worked for Sunbeam Bakery.

She came to Cleveland, OH in 1966. A few years later she met the late John Morrison "The Love of Her Life". To that union gained 4 children: Barbara (the late George Jones), Richard Johnson (Shirley) both of North Carolina, Glen and Requann Morrison both of Cleveland, OH. She retired from St. Alexis Hospital and was a faithful member of New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, under the Pastoral leadership of Titus and Stanley Lockhart, now under Pastor John K. Grimes, all of Cleveland, OH

She leaves to cherich: 4 daughter, Teresa, Gwendolyn, Barbara and Requann; 2 sons, Richard and Glen; 1 sister, Inez Blount; 15 grandchildren: Kenneth, Brandi, Timothy, Arrissa, Jermaine, Teresa, Leslie, James III, Kenen, Joy, Lee, Shaun, Glen Jr, Justin, and Zori; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great great grands; special cousins, Rose Huckabee and Barbara Oglesby; many church sisters and brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many many friends.
