Annie Pearl Small

November 19, 1942 - September 24, 2022

Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022. Annie Pearl Small affectionately called Pearl, Mama Pearl, and Mrs. Pearl was born on November 19, 1942 in Bessemer AL. to Moses and Mattie Lewis. Early in her life Pearl relocated to Cleveland, OH. Where she lived with Rose and Joe Willie Marks, and family. Pearl attended public school and later returned to Adult Vocational school to earn her diploma. She also enrolled in nursing classes and worked at V.A Hospital.

Pearl never met a stranger and would of strike up discussions with people she’d just met. She had a nickname for everyone and often used them to make a person smile. Pearl was known for her quick wit and sense of humor. She was a tinkerer who loved to business. When she wasn’t repairing something, she was dancing and listening to music. She loved to dance and taught several of her children to dance. She was the life of the party and loved have a good time.

Pearl accepted Christ at an early age and attended both Greater Constellation and Calvary Hill MBC. Pearl married Harold Small Sr. (deceased) and to that union 5 children were born. Pearl will be lovingly remembered and leaves o carry on her legacy: Harold, Dirk (deceased), Mia, Mark, and Kevin. She also has 4 bonus sons Terry (Darlene), Alan, Roger(Claudette), and Raymond (deceased). Pearl also has 5 grandchildren Harold (Lil Harold), James (Jay), and Jacqueline(Jackie), Megan, & Jaylen. She also has one great-granddaughter Maleeya (LeLe), two lifelong friends Bobbi and Carol and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

In her 79 year 10 months and 5 days on earth Pearl made an impact. She single-handedly raised 5 children, owned a business, returned to school to complete her education, and owned her own home. She imparted wisdom and shared stories that will be shared for years to come. She guided many people throughout her life. She loved her children, friends, and family and she will truly be missed.
