Louis S. Russo

June 29, 1949 - January 15, 2021

Louis “Yea Lou”  Russo, 71, of  Goodyear, AZ, gained his angel wings on January 15, 2021 at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. His final hour was spent with his family virtually at his bedside.

Yea Lou was born July 29, 1949, in Providence, Rhode Island to Victor and Theresa (Russo) Lozeau, who both have preceded him in death, in 2010 and 1998, respectively, and his baby brother, Micheal Lozeau in 2011.

He was an avid sports fan and loved the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. If you had nothing to say to Lou, just mention any sport and there would be a conversation to last for hours on end. He enjoyed time with his family, taking walks and loved celebrating birthdays, especially singing and eating birthday cake, and, playing the lottery was a must daily.

His last 7 years were his best years in the Valley of the Sun. Thanks to the Avondale Senior Center family and loved ones in Arizona, Lou explored the valley, high and low and was always ready to have pizza and beer.

He is survived by his loving sisters, Denise (Brian) Whetstone of Goodyear, AZ, Terry Winfield of Winchester, VA, brothers Richard (Melissa) Lozeau of Winchester, VA and William (Jen) Lozeau of West Palm Beach, FL, John (Debbie) O'Brien of Winchester, VA and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him so much. He is also survived by a loving companion.

Terry Winfield Big Bro, Once again our lives are changed forever. Hearts are broken, but you are in no more pain. You earned your wings in so many ways. You were a true fighter for so many years. You gave me the hope and strength to continue fighting. I love you & you will be forever in our memories. Today will probably be the hardest day for us. Watch over those who loved you as we send you home to join those that have gone before you. With love, your baby sister.

Rockelle Daley My heart is broken... I’d give anything to drive you to the store or cook you a meal it’s so surreal that you are not here with Us, it pains me to walk by your room and your not there to hand you your lottery tickets.
