Jewell Gladys Eddy

January 19, 1936 - March 21, 2021

On January 19, 1936, Jewell Gladys Eddy was born in Albany Georgia to Jessie Mae (Taylor) Hudson & Peter Reese. She was the only child in this union. Raised by her grandmother Katie Mae.

Jewell grew up Baptist and always had faith In God and Jesus Christ. Cleveland, Ohio became home for Jewell when she moved here in 1952. She moved to the Cedar neighborhood right off 93rd, She worked as a daycare worker. Jewell was such a gentle soul who enjoyed life and loved those who loved her.

In 1954 she started a family of her own even with her being the only child she was able to spread life to 8 children of her own. First birthing Patricia Tyler, Alfonzo Reese. She later married and brought six more children to the union Michael Eddy, Brenda Eddy, Judy Eddy, Mario Eddy, Terry Eddy and Jewel Eddy aka “Lil Jewel” who preceded her in death.

Jewell was such a good mother who loved her children and kept them and extended family close. She had an open heart and a door that never closed. She opened doors to anyone who ever needed her and a place to call home. She was the glue that held her family together & she always said, “I lived my life, I did have my fun” and that she did! She enjoyed being around family, especially during family functions such as parties she loved to dance her favorite dance was the “Atomic Dog”. These were the types of things that brought her joy.

A genuine soul was released to the Lord on Sunday March 21st, 2021. Jewell left the Earth to be an Angel to reunite with Jessie (mother), Lil Jewel (daughter), Monique and Rebecca (granddaughters).
She leaves to cherish her memories, 31 grandkids, 48 great-grandkids, 19 great great grandkids and a host of family and friends.
