Daniel Lee Yoerns, Age 80, of Ashfork, AZ died Sunday April 4, 2021, Easter, in the Banner University Hospital, Phoenix, AZ.  He was in the ICU for a week with an issue continuing years.

 Son of the late, Daniel Joseph and Charlotte Mae (Hinten) Yoerns, he was a resident of Arizona for over 47 years.  He was born in East Canton, Ohio.  He graduated and joined the Air Force in 1958, and mainly was focused on Avionics.  He retired from the Air Force after almost 22 years, on March 31, 1980.  He was a Viet Nam Veteran.  Afterwards he started his own business, Valley Corvair, where he repaired and restored Chevy Corvairs.  He also enjoyed watching Nascar racing and woodworking.  He went back to school and got his AA in Engineering from Glendale Community College on Dec. 18, 1986, while running a business and helping to raise 2 children.

 He was preceded in death by his second wife Hiroko Yoerns, in January 2021 and 3 Brother-In-Laws, Michael Rae, Donald Sodano and Bryan Wold and nephew Troy Lowery.  He is survived by his first wife Mary Shanower (Yoerns) Elliot and their two sons, Daniel J. and daughter-in-law Juultje Chatelain and their children Danny, David, Lucas and Lotta of the Netherlands, and Larry Edward and Sherrie Chatelain and their child Courtney of Columbus, Georgia.  Also his two children by his second wife, Laura Lee and Scott Nagy of Glendale, AZ and Karl William and his daughter Haley Yoerns of Tucson, AZ. And Dan’s step-daughter and family, Crystal Marie and Ebenezer Qureshi and their children Jared, Noah, Tyler, Jazlyn, and Nyla.  And his third wife Rosemary Yoerns of Surprise, AZ.  He also had 5 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his 3 sisters, Karen Ann Sodano, Carol Jeanne Rae of Bella Vista, Ark.  and Patti Evelyn and brother-in-law William Martin of Melvern, Ohio.  And brother-in-law Leo Gene and Vicki Wold of Mason City, Iowa.  And numerous nieces and nephews.

Internment and Memorial will be held May 7, 2021, his birthday, at 9:30am at the Phoenix National Cemetery.  And a gathering later at their home in Surprise.
