Kevin Gardner

June 12, 1971 - July 17, 2021

Kevin Alexander Gardner was born in Queens, New York on June 12th, 1971 to Samuel Gardner and the late Bobbie Jean Gardner.

Kevin was the first child and only son born to Bobbie Jean Gardner. Father Samuel Gardner’s two eldest children instantly welcomed Kevin as the baby brother of the new family of three.
However, a few years later Kevin became a big brother to twin sisters, Tashuana and Tanisha.
Raised in Queens, New York Kevin attended Jamaica High School. Kevin excelled in high school and was a dear friend to many. After graduating from high school he secured employment with The State of New York. During his time with the state, Kevin began to pursue his passion of becoming an entrepreneur. Kevin and friend Jason Overton opened K & J’s Car Wash in Queens. Kevin also went on to purchase several vending machines and leased them to
other businesses. Kevin eventually purchased an apartment building at the age of 27. Kevin maintained all of this while working a full-time job for the state of New York. It was in this building that Kevin and the love of his life Akilah began to grow in their relationship and start a family. The firstborn child for the couple was Lord Gardner and the second born Chakra Gardner. The siblings quickly became best friends.

As Kevin grew in entrepreneurship, his vision also expanded. In 2003, Kevin moved his family from Queens, New York to Phoenix, Arizona. Once Kevin and the family settled on the west coast, he opened yet another business. The League Barber Shop and Salon was established. As the business grew the family also grew, in 2007 the couple welcomed their third  child Amira Gardner and in 2009 a fourth child Zion Gardner. The growth of the family was now complete, and business continued to soar. Kevin had a vision for his family and that was to instill the power of ownership. Arizona ATM was established.  Kevin had multiple ATMs throughout Arizona and had developed multiple business connections.

June 12, 2021, Kevin celebrated his 50th birthday and his success as an entrepreneur.
At the age of 50, Kevin had accomplished what many only dreamed of.
Shortly after his 50th birthday he fell ill, and he departed this life on July 17, 2021.
Kevin joins his Mother Bobbie Gardner and his sister Tashuana Gardner whom both proceeded him in death. Kevin will be sorely missed, not only by his family but friends whom he respected and admired. He leaves behind his beloved children Lord, Chakra, Amira, and Zion
Gardner, father Samuel Gardner; sisters: Tanisha Gardner, Tammy, and brothers: Erroll and Mark Gardner.  He also leaves behind to cherish his memory, a host of nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Kevin was valued, loved, and respected by family and friends, who will all miss him dearly.

Lovingly Submitted

Condolences 20

Marjorie Adams I’d like to extend my condolences to Kevin’s entire family. To loose Kevin was to loose one of God’s Army. Kevin (for a time) was like family to my Sons and I, he mentored my sons Quincy, Moses, Cornell (if I am being honest) and me, too. Filling in the gap where he could (hiring each at 14 years old) and asking nothing in return. I can never repay such a deed, I can only pay it forward. Rest In Peace, Kevin. I am keeping the family in my prayers.
